High School Baseball Kicks Off with Split

By Gary Quintal

BRONX, NEW YORK, APRIL 18- While the long winter wrecked havoc with the early PSAL schedule, high school baseball has finally taken a  foothold. Playing a "home and home" series this week were PSAL AA West League rivals Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy and Evander Childs Campus.

The teams split the two games with RKA winning the first 11-2 Tuesday while Evander won Thursday.

Using three singles with two outs in the first inning to build a 2-0 lead, Evander never looked back adding another two in the third before finally settling in with the 8-1 victory.

RKA finished the week falling to High School of American studies and now stands at 1-3, while Evander leads the Bronx AA West with a 4-1 record.
